With 2011 being an amazing year for weddings – We enviously watched on as Kate Moss, Kim Kardashian and Kate Middleton held the weddings of the year! Here are the latest top tips and trends for weddings in 2012:

1. Sweet & Sophisticated
We don’t want to see just cakes anymore; we want sweets and lots of them! Table decorations can become a pricey addition to any wedding and they’re only good for a couple of minutes of eye candy. So why not get real candy! Everyone loves sweets, they’ll keep the kids in high spirits and of course we’re all big kids at heart!

2. Lined with Lace
Thanks to the royal wedding of Kate Middleton and Prince William, thousands of women are after the gorgeous dress by Alexander McQueen designer Sarah Burton. The Duchess of Cambridge has been a trend setter from the moment she stepped out in her gown.

3. No Place Like Home
We can expect more weddings to be happening in locations that are relevant to the couple. For example the wedding reception is more likely to be held in a favourite garden or restaurant as opposed to an unknown hotel. In 2012 we’re keeping it close to home!

4. A Splash of Colour
Whilst we all like to stick to some sort of tradition, it doesn’t have to be boring. Switch it up a little and add some colour to your wedding.

5. DIY
As much as it would be lovely to have someone plan each and every detail for our weddings, in times like this we simply can’t afford it! So brides are taking woman power to the extreme and organising the little essentials all by themselves! DIY isn’t just for men!
