There was a time when a religious marriage ceremony was the automatic choice for just about every couple, but not any more. Think hard about whether the commitments involved in a religious ceremony are meaningful to you, or would you be doing it just for your parents?
If you do have doubts, talk them through with your family, explaining that you feel that the marriage ceremony must reflect your own beliefs, whatever they may be. Get advice from your vicar or priest, who may be able to make things dearer.
