Wedding dresses to suit your body shape

A perfect wedding day is every girls dream; therefore we all want to look and feel our best. If you are unsure of what dress to go for or want to cover up a certain part of your body, take a look at some of our hints and tips below to help flatter your body shape and whilst showing off your best features.

Covering up

If you are self-conscious about the tops of your arms, the perfect solution for this would be to choose a dress with sleeves! Don’t be afraid to go for this look, you just need to ensure that you choose a clever cut to suit your body shape. Try to go for a looser sleeve rather than a tight fitting one as this will just enhance the shape of your arms, so keep it loose and casual yet elegant. By covering what makes you feel uncomfortable, you will feel more confident and will glow on your big day!

Top heavy

If you are a top heavy lady, do not panic, there is a dress out there for everyone – you just need to know exactly what you are looking for. Adding volume to your lower body will help you to create the perfect hourglass shape and ensure that you can create the perfect balance. If you are brave enough, go for a fairy-tale style dress to make you look like a princess and make you feel great!

If you are tall and slender and have more of a boyish shape then you can definitely go for a lovely column dress which will make you look like a catwalk model! Choose a more fitted style to show of the curves you do have. For something more feminine, why not try a part lace dress or a lace overlay?

Shorter girls

If you are on the small side and have longer legs and a short torso – or vice versa – you should go for a fitted dress. If you have long legs and a short torso go for a drop waist skirt to lengthen your mid-section and to enhance your curves. If you do have longer legs don’t be afraid to be a bit daring and go for a shorter style wedding dress – a lot of people are going for this style recently. Just make sure your dress is feminine, full and with soft layers to ensure you still look the blushing bride.

If you are a curvier girl go for a dress that is structured! An A-line dress is a very popular choice as it suits almost any body type. A fitted bodice would be perfect for someone with curves as it will draw attention to them without making you look frumpy. An A-line dress with a fitted bodice and a flowing skirt will create the perfect silhouette by nipping you in at the waist and skimming over your hips. By adding some jewelry or accessories to the bust of your dress you can be sure to enhance you best assets!
